The Marketing Challenge
Seaview came to Beacon needing to increase awareness in their community surrounding the services they offer. They knew this tight-knit, unique community would be slower to engage on social media all while taking in the information they were searching for. Seeking to engage this dynamic and individualized section of Alaska, SeaView sought to align their online presence through messaging of being community-minded and a resource for the multi-generational demographic they wished to serve.
In addition, SeaView wanted to establish themselves as the superior clinic in the region’s backyard to treat mental health and addiction concerns along with working to reduce the stigma of substance abuse and mental health by increasing their social media presence. SeaView also recognized the importance of optimizing their website to highlight brand awareness and capture organic traffic.
By utilizing the optimization of the website, Beacon knew they could increase the number of clients to the clinic through paid ads along with organic awareness. Beacon also assisted SeaView in becoming an accredited addiction facility by implementing LegitScript into their mental healthcare arsenal and a hiring campaign that yielded tremendous results.
How We Got Results
Goal 1: Increase Brand Awareness in the Community
Beacon knows Alaska, and we know that we had to set to work creating targeted keywords for Seaview that would reach out into the community they serve. We focused on creating a clarifying message within the content of the website and through paid ads.
Beacon worked to clarify the mission and vision of SeaView Mental Health by optimizing headers and language in both website copy and paid ads. Through the optimization, Beacon was able to increase website traffic by 71%.
Seward, Alaska is located in South Central Alaska and has a charm and quaintness unique to a seaside Alaskan town. As the population swells in the summer with seasonal workers and tourism, SeaView’s goal is to reach the locals who reside in and around Seward year-round. Seward, the Kenai Penninsula, and Homer are not unlike other small towns where pride and independence run deep and mental health care can be overlooked. SeaView is also deeply committed to adding value to it’s community by providing a welcoming environment and offering information and resources through SeaView and community services as well.
Goal 2: Reduce Stigma in Older Adults and Among Those Who Need Help With Mental Healthcare and Addiction Recovery Resources
SeaView is equipped to help all age demographics, however, the stigma of mental health care can run stronger with certain age groups. Committing to reach the older generation, Seaview wanted to communicate that mental health care is important at every stage of life.
Beacon began to facilitate this by choosing images that would resonate with the older generation and implement a regular series of community education campaigns which revolve around removing the barriers such as financial restraints and introducing providers and staff. As part of the reputation management and Facebook strategy, Beacon defined the ability to add value and give back to the community with posts about managing stress and common conditions such as S.A.D. (Seasonal Affective Disorder) caused by the lack of sunlight in Alaska’s dark winter months.
As a result of these campaigns, SeaView’s Facebook page has seen an increase of over 50% in just 6 short months, which is impressive for the non-social media driven area of Seward.
“We love working with Beacon Media + Marketing, and highly recommend them.”
