Beyond Healthcare provides essential mental health services for teens and young adults through Partial Hospitalization (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP). Operating across four Ohio markets—Toledo, Westlake, Beachwood, and Fairlawn—they were ready to grow, but their digital strategy wasn’t built to scale. 

Their third-party scheduling system created a tracking blind spot. They couldn’t accurately connect campaigns to bookings. Each location had different audience needs, and advertising platforms like Meta and Google were shifting faster than they could adapt.

As digital advertising platforms like Meta  and Google  rolled out major changes in attribution, targeting, and automation during late 2023 and early 2024, Beacon proactively adjusted bidding strategies, creative formats, and conversion events to stay ahead of the curve. This agility ensured Beyond remained visible to their ideal audience while optimizing for ROI. 

From the start, Beacon prioritized performance visibility. They implemented CallTrackingMetricsto give campaign-level clarity, using trackable phone numbers across all ad groups. In the interim, they introduced proxy conversions—like outbound link clicks—to gauge momentum while building toward more reliable tracking infrastructure. 

Building the Foundation for Scalable Performance 

Beacon started with focused campaigns targeting teen PHP/IOP searches in Fairlawn and Beachwood. As results became reliable, they expanded to Westlake and Toledo. Branded Search and Performance Max campaignsensured Beyond’s brand stayed prominent—even during platform policy shifts that impacted other providers’ visibility. 

  • Call Tracking Metrics Integration:Campaign-specific phone numbers provided clarity in source attribution—essential as platform-side attribution became more opaque. 
  • Proxy Conversion Tracking:Outbound link clicks were used as a temporary performance metric while better tracking solutions were developed. 
  • Initial Campaigns:We launched high-intent campaigns for teen PHP/IOP terms in Fairlawn and Beachwood, then expanded to Westlake and Toledo. 
  • Brand Protection + Visibility:Branded Search and Performance Max campaigns ensured Beyond’s brand appeared prominently across search and display. 

 

2024 Results: 

  • 302 conversions 
  • $51 cost per lead 
  • 9.35% click-through rate 
  • $3.82 cost per click 

Beacon built a solid foundation of performance and prepared the account for more sophisticated optimization. 

Breakthrough Optimization and Precision Tracking Meet Full-Funnel Strategy 

Early March 2025, Beyond Healthcare entered what Beacon called “The Better Period.”That marked the launch of first-party conversion tracking using newly integrated contact forms. Outbound click proxies were sunset, and every lead from that point forward was fully traceable and verifiable. 

Standardized a High-Performance Campaign Stack 

Campaigns were expanded and unified across all markets. Beacon launched: 

  • Insurance-specific ad groups(e.g., “Aetna PHP for teens”) 
  • Seasonal messaginglike “Summer Programs for Teens” 
  • Medication management service campaigns 
  • Young Adult PHP/IOP campaigns 

Refined Relevance and Spend Efficiency 

In parallel, they deployed keyword-aligned landing pagesand aggressive negative keyword filteringto maximize relevance and minimize waste. 

The Results: Performance Redefined 

From March 5 to May 28, 2025, Beacon’s strategy produced transformational results: 

  • 465 total conversions 
  • $17.93 cost per lead(↓ 65%) 
  • 10.05% click-through rate 
  • $2.24 cost per click 

By removing tracking noise, optimizing campaign structure, and aligning every element of the funnel, Beacon helped Beyond not just increase volume—but improve quality and lower acquisition cost.
